We’ve just had the two busiest terms yet, but due to Corona Lockdown, we’ve moved our classes online so we can continue to train and keep in good health at this time.

Entwined Bellydance & Yoga
Term 2 Online Autumn Training & Well-Being Menu

30 Mar – 29 Apr – 5 weeks

7-8.30pm – Essential Bellydance Drills
We begin our journey with a warm up of yoga conditioning, flexibility and strength training, particularly focusing on the core, shoulder girdle, hips, hamstrings and posture muscles. We then breakdown and drill key bellydance isolations and then put them together in classic and new combinations for you to put your new or refined skills into practice. This class is suitable for complete beginners or intermediate dancers honing and refining technique.

Each class will include:

  • Body awakening through core activating yoga postures and drills
  • Breakdown and drill key components of bellydance
  • · Combine movements in new and classic bellydance combinations

7-8.30pm – Soulful Yoga
Awaken the five layers or sheaths of the Atman/soul through pranayama/breathwork, meditation and yoga asana practices. Each class will have a key focus which aligns with our physical or spiritual goals for that week. For instance each week will cover a focus topic such as Inversions, Backbends, Forward Folds, Balancing, Hip or Shoulder Opening. Please note this class aims to provide a holistic approach to yoga.

Each class will include:

  • Awakening breath mediation/pranayama
  • Yoga Asana Practice
  • Meditation
  • Additionally some weeks may also cover chanting and mudras where relevant

7-8.30pm – Essential Fusion Bellydance Drills
Formerly called “tribal fusion” this all round class will include a short conditioning, flexibility and strength warm-up, with a breakdown of classic “tribal” and “fusion” bellydance isolation drills which we will put together in new and classic combinations each week. Whilst this class is suitable for complete beginners, it is aimed at Continuing Beginners and Intermediate dancers honing and refining their technique and building their repertoire.

Each class will include:

  • Body awakening through core activating yoga postures and drills
  • Breakdown and drill key components of “tribal” or “fusion” bellydance
  • Combine movements in new and classic “tribal” or “fusion” bellydance combinations

8-9pm – Open Floor Dance & Jam

Share your personal expression, receive feedback from your teacher and commune with your dance sisters. Please note, this class is aimed at students who are enrolled in other weekly classes, and have achieved a reasonable competency in the Entwined Bellydance or similar format, to be applied at the discretion of EBD.
