TUESDAYS:
7pm– Bellydance Drills, Foundations & Fundamentals
Learn bellydance movements from the ground up, learning about foot placement, posture, dance safety and musculature of the movements. This class is a non-competitive class to introduce new dancers to some of the key movements and musculature isolations of the belly/torso used in bellydance/“danse du vent”, which are inspired by some of the traditional/folk dance movements typical of the MEHNAT (Middle Eastern, Hellenic, North African, Turkish cultures). This weekly foundation/fundamentals class will provide the repetition and drills to allow dancers to embed and embody the core movements in their bodies. Bellydance is a fun way to exercise, meet new people, tone your body, increase fitness, improve mental health, and dance the night away! This class is recommended for anyone new to bellydance or the Entwined training format.
7.30pm – Bellydance Drills, Combinations & Group Improvisation Format (Beyond/Continuing Beginners – Intermediate)
This class builds on the foundations/fundamentals of bellydance movements by applying the vocabulary to key or classic ways they are used in traditional or fusion bellydance styles. This class is aimed at dancers who already have the foundations under their belt and are wanting to build on their repertoire or skill with travelling steps, variations or combinations. Dancers will learn be introduced on how to layer or transition between movements to build on their own dance vocabulary and improvisation or choreography skills.
8.30pm – Urban Fusion Bellydance Choreography (Beyond Beginner – Intermediate – Advanced)
Let’s warm up 2021 with a hard-hitting choreography jam packed with pops, locks, urban edge, juicy hits and grindy bass – blending traditional sounds of the middle east with modern electronics in a heady, sensual and hypnotic blend. Utilising the fundamental movements of modern contemporary fusion bellydance with an urban ghetto bass vibe, this choreography will draw on elements of popping, locking, ticking/glitch fusion movement innovations combined with classic bellydance fundamentals. This piece will be part of the work developed for the 2021 Entwined Bellydance Live Dance Showcase, so performance opportunities available.
This class blends foundation technique, footwork, layers and theatrical elements and ideas to bring all the elements together. We break down each component, drill them with you to consolidate into the body and build up to a choreographic sequence; as well as explaining timing, musicality and theatrical elements, and how this relates to each movement. This class will move at steady to fast pace with more complex variations of movements for beyond beginner to advanced dancers. The skills acquired can be applied to a range of bellydance styles from traditional to modern or fusion.
TUESDAYS:
8pm – Soulful Yoga Flow (Beginner – Intermediate)
Soulful Yoga Flow is an ongoing weekly class to build strength, flexibility, grace and consciousness. Our approach draws on Hatha and Vinyasa style yoga.The class provides a balancing, integrative, holistic and soulful yoga practice integrating the science and spirituality of yoga – Yoga Asana, Meditation and Pranayama exercises to enhance your wellbeing in today’s evolving world. Awaken the five layers or sheaths of the Atman/soul through pranayama/breathwork, meditation and yoga asana practices. Each class will have a key focus which aligns with our physical or spiritual goals for that week. For instance each week will cover a focus topic such as Inversions, Backbends, Forward Folds, Balancing, Hip or Shoulder Opening. Beginner to Intermediate friendly. The class is designed to build stronger, healthier dancers if you are also training in the Entwined bellydance format.
WEDNESDAYS:
6.30pm– Flow Fusion – Bellydance Foundations, Conditioning & Yogalates (All levels)
This new multi-level flow class incorporates yogalates, yoga and bellydance drills to unlock and unwind your inner serpentine. This class will work at a smooth but steady pace and suit flow dancers wanting to incorporate bellydance into their practice, beginners to bellydance who want to learn bellydance in freeflow/less structured manner and beyond beginner/intermediate and advanced dancers wanting to explore their bodies, strength, flexibility, range of movement, musculature and flow. Focus will be on unwinding and unlocking the body, breath and the journey between movements to create more magic, grace, liquidity, embodiment and sinuous flow.

Some advanced stabilising and conditioning exercise will be incorporated into this class to build strong dancers.
8.30pm – Fusion Bellydance Choreography & Props (Intermediate – Advanced)
This class is aimed at intermediate and advanced dancers who are strong in the foundations of bellydance and are comfortable with travelling and layering steps, to incorporate a diverse range of bellydance props and movements to take their dance to the next level.
This series, we’re bringing you a fresh new light-filled, summer choreography which will have you whirling, twirling and travelling across the dancefloor like a gypsy goddess.
This is for intermediate/advanced dancers who are comfortable with challenging movements and floor patterns. It will become part of the work developed for the 2021 Entwined Bellydance Live Dance Showcase, so performance opportunities available.

THURSDAYS:
8pm – Bellydance Fundamentals & Flow (Beginners & Beyond)
This one stop online class provides the foundations and fundamental movements of bellydance, classic combinations and sequences and yoga/conditioning flow, hand-picked to give you the best bits and make the most out of your online learning experience in bellydance. We had been teaching this 90minute live interactive online format class for approximately 9months to great success.
